Bereaved Families Support Group

The death of a child at any point is devastating. Parents who lose a baby at or before birth grieve in the same way as any other bereaved parents but with additional challenges. The loss is abrupt and unfair and for those who haven't experienced it, it's dificult to understand the anguish that parents are going through. This leaves the grieving parents feeling isolated while they try to sort through an overwhelming mixture of emotions. We're here to help.

Empty Cradle is a support group on Oregon's South Coast coordinated by maternity nurses who have received specialized training to deal with grief. Because we serve a large rural area, our web site is here to make it easy for you to get the support you need. Our local group also meets as needed.

We are open to anyone, whether your loss is through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, abortion, stillbirth, newborn death relinquishing your baby through adoption. We welcome you.
